About me

I grew up in Gainesville, Florida. Like many other kickers, I was an avid soccer player. In the fourth grade, my friends convinced me to try football. The idea of playing football was not well accepted with my parents. As a compromise, we came up with the idea that I should kick. My Dad found me a kicking coach in the area, former Florida Gator Matt Leach. Matt and I worked together from the fourth grade until I retired. Since I was young, Matt installed in me the importance of great technique. 

High school is when my career really began to take off. I played at the varsity level as a freshman. I went 31/36 on Field Goals during my 4 years at Buchholz High School. (All kicks off the grass) I had a long of 48 yards and went 5/5 on game winning/tying kicks. I achieved many awards such as being #1 kicker in the state (Max Preps), won All-State and All-Area multiple times. I was highly recruited throughout my career and signed with Tennessee State out of high school.

After my freshman year at Tennessee State, I decided to transfer. I was blessed to find a home at USF. I walked on the team and was immediately put into a battle for the starting Field Goal Job. After eventually winning the job, I went 15/18 on my Sophomore season (2nd highest % for a single season in school history). The highlight of my season was a game winning filed goal against Tulsa on ESPN. I earned AAC Special Teams Player of the Week and Second-Team All Conference for my efforts of that season. Before my junior year, I was added to the Lou Groza Award Watchlist. However, I suffered a lingering injury in the off-season that caused me to miss the vast majority of the season. I went 3/5 while playing injured. The injuries carried over into my senior season. After meeting with several doctors, I decided it was best to retire. I finished my career at USF a combined 18/23. This put me at the highest field goal percentage in a career at USF. After retiring, I joined the staff as a student assistant.
